How to copy a filter from one video to another

Reuse a filter across videos instead of redrawing it: right-click it in the Filters tab, choose Copy Filter, then paste it onto another video.

Over the years customers have asked us to put in dozens of small features to make their lives easier. Some of them get overlooked during training and day-to-day use. This series brings those features to light, one at a time, to make working in Kinesense a little easier.

Why copy a filter?

Many moons ago we were asked for a way to copy a filter from one video to another. It comes in handy when:

  • you have a number of videos that all need the same filter applied, or
  • you have built yourself a fancy filter and want a second one covering the same area, but with a different direction or colour.

Instead of drawing the same filter over and over again, copy it once and paste it wherever you need it.

Copying a filter

  1. In the Filters tab, right-click the filter you want to reuse and select Copy Filter.
  2. Select the video you want to copy the filter to.
  3. Right-click again and select Paste Filter.

The Filters tab in Kinesense with a filter named “Road” selected and its right-click menu open, showing Copy Filter, Save Filter and Delete Filter.

Easy as that!
