Detection of Licence Plates in CCTV

KinesenseLE can now detect licence plates in video and display the results in the Grid tab. It works on real-world video and will fine even partial or unclear plates – a key requirement for certain investigations.

To use this feature, first ensure you have installed the optional “Kinesense Yolo Plugin”, which you will find under ‘Deep Learning’ in the Download Manager.

On import, under “Select Analysis Algorithm”, pick “Yolo Algorithm”. Choose the ‘YoloLicensePlate’ option and set the ‘minimum detection size’ to zero pixels (so that even very small plates/far away can be found)

The Analysis Algorithm page with YOLO Algorithm selected, the YOLOLicencePlates model chosen and minimum detection size set to 0.

The video will import and it will find the licence plates in the video. You can review the results either on the Review Timeline, or in Grid
